Argan Oil, Lovin' It!

Hello Friends! I'm sure quite a few of you have heard of Argan Oil or sometimes referred to as Moroccan Gold. Argan oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the Argan tree, endemic to Morocco, and is valued for its nutritive, cosmetic and numerous medicinal properties. I first heard about this oil from my friend when she gave me samples of this product called Moroccan Oil (I think). Well the hair product was not to my liking and the Argan oil was one of the last ingredients listed. So thanks to Google I did some research and found out just how good this oil was for the skin and hair. I ordered mine from Amazon and got pure 100% organic Argan oil. Now this oil is a little bit pricier than most, mine cost $28 USD but ladies and gents this stuff is fantastic and a little goes a looooong way. I've been using this product for a month now and have not even made a dent in it. I mixed in a few drops with jojoba oil and now I use that mixture as my night cream. I have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin and this has not clogged my pores or broken me out nor does it leave me feeling greasy in fact my skin is getting smoother, it's helping with my hyper pigmentation and apparently it's supposed to help with wrinkles too! For the hair it's glorious! After I wash my hair (which is about once to twice a week), I spritz my hair then follow by rubbing about 5 drops of the Argan oil throughout my locs. My locs feel so soft for days, really until my next wash. My hair isn't sticky or coated and it adds a light sheen. I am lovin' this oil. In fact it just might be my new favorite. It has an extremely light scent that is pleasant but doesn't linger so if you want to jazz it up with some essential oils you can (I currently use myrrh & frankincense). I've also heard some people use it as a hot oil treatment, for their cuticles, it really is a multi purpose oil. For those who like Shea butter but find it too heavy for their hair or face I would say give Argan oil a try. Shop around and don't waste your money unless you are buying 100% pure Argan oil. When using it, use drops, trust a little at a time is all you need. love, love, love this oil check it out!

  1. Just came across your blog. I love your locs. I also latch and find it much better than twisting the new growth. I was afraid to spend the $ on a nappy loc tool becasue I knew I'd loose it so I made one out of a metal yarn needle from Wal-Mart. Yup 1.43! ....I just made the eye on the yarn needle bigger by putting a small flathead screw driver thru the eye (very gently because it will break) and then I cut the yarn needle to make it shorter...looks just like a nappy loc tool...and only 1.43...I got creative one day...lol..
